Once the medication period is over the metallic odor usually fades away. But specifically that has to be done after consulting a physician and following proper prescription.

FORMATION OF BLOOD METTALIC ODOR

Our blood contains Iron denoted as Fe, one of the main reasons of why does blood smell like metallic. Moreover, our blood also gives metallic odor when in contact with our skin, thus the coppery also known as the metallic odor is derived from skin’s fatty chemicals.

The formation of blood metallic odors takes place when the body breaks down ammonia into the urea which is excreted out of body through urine. However, ammonia level still rises up, and then the body excretes this hazardous excess of ammonia through perspiration also known as sweat.

The ammonia rich sweating odor usually depends upon the person; this could be a cause of person’s dietary intake. For instance, if they consume high protein, low carb diet their blood and body odor is more likely to be metallic. One another reason might be that the person body is more likely to burn protein than glucose or fuel.
